We hope you enjoy these.

We welcome the Alabama Republican Party Executive Director T.J. Maloney as guest speaker at our May luncheon meeting. He moved here from Virginia with a long history of managing and working campaigns all over the county. It was a 2008 Alabama congressional campaign where he met his future wife, Tanya, a native of Heflin, Alabama. A self-described “political hack” that lives for politics, he reads many political biographies and follows online news around the country. T.J. became interested in politics late one October night in 1989. His father woke him up to watch television and to witness “history in the aking.” He watched as the Berlin Wall was torn down and he realized there was a wide world around him and politics often shapes the course of human events. We look forward to meeting T.J. and hearing what the Alabama Republican Party has planned.
Our menu is slow-cooked organic chicken, smoked cheddar cheese mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus. For dessert, we’ll have raspberry creme brulee. Rolls, coffee, and tea will complete the meal. The cost is $22 per person with reservations to Brenda Newton at jannew3b@aol.com or 546-6692 by noon on Tuesday, May 24. Those making reservations and not attending will be billed by CCRW. Please allow 24 hours notice for cancellations.

Teenage Republicans Collect Cleaning Supplies for C.S.S.
Area
teenage Republicans hosted a community service event at the GOP
headquarters and collected cleaning supplies for Catholic Social
Services. Learning
that food stamp recipients are not allowed to purchase non-consumable
goods, the group saw a need in the community and offered to help.
Shown here are club members from both Montgomery Catholic Preparatory
School and St. James. They are: (left to right front row), Lexie
Segrest, Barbara Bradley, Chad DuBois, Dallas O’Mara, and Keith Pendley;
(left to right back row), Hayden Ellis, Jacob McAlpine, Aidan Gilbert,
and Elizabeth Karst. Not pictured is Madeline Pendley. The teenage
Republicans hope to meet again as a group for
events in the future. For more information about teenage Republican
clubs, please contact Jean Bradley at 409-9097.

MCRC Helps Overlooked Victims of the April 27th Tornadoes
![]() |
| Tornado in Jackson County, Alabama on April 27 |
One such small, rural community is Flat Rock, located in Northeast Jackson County on the sandstone plateau of Sand Mountain. The local economy consists of family farms or small poultry producers, and economic resources are limited. Unfortunately, media coverage isn’t as extensive or focused for these rural areas yet the needs of these residents are just as intense.
The Board of the Montgomery County Republican Club has elected to “adopt” the community of Flat Rock and has made a monetary contribution to The Flat Rock Community Club to aid residents in their recovery efforts. Rural areas of Alabama are typically located far from a metropolitan base and do not have access to an expanded volunteer support structure. The Flat Rock Community Club is a 501(c)(3) and all monetary donations are tax deductible.
The MCRC is asking all club members to consider making a donation to The Flat Rock Community Club at our next monthly meeting on Monday, May 16th, 6:45 p.m. at the Faulkner University Cafeteria. For more information, please contact Marcia Chambliss at (334)562-3999 or (334)462-9322.
