Next Neighborhood Walk: Saturday, Oct. 1st

The Montgomery County Precinct Organization Committee's goal is to increase Republican turnout in the crucial 2012 election. In order to accomplish that goal we must recruit, train and retain members for all of our Republican clubs who can, in turn, help us get out the vote in the neighborhoods of Montgomery where we know there are like minded voters. We began our precinct walks on September 10th by placing door hangers on over 800 doors in the County Downs neighborhood. All who participated in this process were excited and fired up about our prospects in the 2012 elections.

There are many critical races in the next election cycle and we want you to be aware of the local offices which are up for election and the function of the office and why it is critical to have a conservative Republican holding that office.

The Judge of Probate office is currently held by Reese McKinney, Jr. Judge McKinney became Montgomery County Probate Judge in March 1998 then was elected to a six year term in 2000 and re-elected in 2006. The Probate Judge handles matters such as vehicle registration, probating of wills, deed and title searches, adoptions, guardianships, conservatorships, purchasing of marriage or business licenses, or other legal issues addressed through the Court. The Probate Judge is also the Chief Election Official.

Accomplishments of Judge McKinney:
He has implemented the use of optical scanning equipment to record images of documents filed in Montgomery County. The use of this technology is the first step in the continuing process of making Probate records available.

In 2005, Judge McKinney directed Montgomery County's effort in becoming the only Alabama County compliant with the federally mandated Help America Vote Act (HAVA) by the January 1, 2006 deadline. Included in those efforts was the introduction of a state-of-the-art voting system, and the creation of the Montgomery County Election Center.

We need your help to get neighborhoods in Montgomery organized. Consider volunteering your time to be a precinct captain, participate in a precinct walk, work at the headquarters one day a week, participate in a voter registration drive. No matter your skill set we can use you to help in this worthwhile effort. Our next precinct walk is October 1st and we need volunteers to drive, walk and provide water or snacks. Can you help? 9-11: Press Forward

From Your President

Our Membership is up and enthusiasm is growing.

As I write this article on 9/11, I am even more convinced that our mission as a club is to fight harder and work more to make a contribution in the struggle to retain our American “values” as a Nation and as a community, especially here in Montgomery.  Our country and political system is being attacked on all sides.  Every contribution is important.  We need to rededicate our commitment to those values, and you can do so through the Club.  Join us.

Our mission is to (1) inform each other of the current events effecting our political system, (2) reach out to as many other like minded folks inviting them to join us and (3) take action to enhance and influence the outcome.

As an example: Sheila Munday and her Precinct team’s planning and dedication resulted in 40+ members giving up 2 hours of their Saturday morning (9/10) to provide us just such an example.  We need to commend their efforts and join in their next action.

Yesterday’s Precinct Walk, this far out from major election, is a demonstration of what a dedicated effort can do to make a difference and impact attitudes and,

We Have A Mission For You!

If you want to make a difference in the election process in Montgomery County we have a mission for you.

Participate in our first precinct walk of this year which will be held on Saturday September 10th.  The area for
the walk is the County Downs neighborhood.  We will gather at the GOP headquarters beginning at 8:00 and receive our packets of door hangers and street assignments.  In this walk we will only be placing the door
hangers on the front door of the houses on the assigned streets.  The total time involved should only be around 2 hours depending on how fast you choose to walk!!

Volunteers Needed for Saturday, Sept. 10th.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: The Montgomery County Republican Party is hosting a neighborhood walk on Saturday, September 10. This is our first walk for the 2012 campaign cycle, and we need volunteers to:

- Walk the precincts
- Drive the precincts to drop off and pick up walkers
- Help organize packets for walkers
- Help at the headquarters Open House on September 10th
