Judge Roy Moore to Address River Region Republican Club

Judge Roy Moore will speak to the River Region Republican Club this Tuesday, November 29th, at the Farmer's Market Cafe downtown. The meeting starts at noon.

First Lady Bentley at CCRW Luncheon

The Capital City Republican Women welcomed First Lady Dianne Jones Bentley as guest speaker to its November meeting.  Mrs. Bentley spoke about the preservation of the Governor’s Mansion.  E. Parke Hinman, executive director of the Montgomery Area Food Bank, spoke briefly about his organization’s efforts to feed others in the community.   As part of its Caring for America program, CCRW members were asked to contribute to the Montgomery Area Food Bank at this November luncheon.

Additionally, CCRW President Donna Robins reported the organization picked up awards from both the National Federation Republican Women and Alabama Federation of Republican Women at recent conventions.  Comprised of Republican women in River Region, CCRW is affiliated with both these state and national organizations.

The National Federation of Women presented its Silver Award to CCRW at its 36^th Biennial Convention in Kansas City, MO.  The Alabama Federation of Republican Women presented a first place award for CCRW’s newsletter and a third place award for membership.  The membership award recognizes the group as having the largest increase in growth for a medium size club.

Upcoming Events

There are a number of events coming up over the next few weeks which you will want to be aware of.

The Montgomery County Republican Club meets at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, November 21st at the Faulkner University Cafeteria.  Club president Cuck Carver will discuss his exprience with the Alabama Job Creation and Military Stability Commission, which has a role in defending Alabama's military bases from the next round of base closures, and can therefore impact jobs and the economy in several communities throughout Alabama.

The River Region Republican Club, which normally meets on the third Tuesday of each month, will instead meet on  Tuesday, November 29th.  The starting time is still 12:00 noon, and the location is still the Farmer's Market Cafe downtown.

The 2011 Montgomery County Republican Club Christmas Party will be Monday, December 5th at Mr. G's Ristorante at the corner of Atlanta Highway and Bell Road.  Tickets are $25 per person and are available from MCRC board members.

The Montgomery Teenage Republican Club, which just participated in the Veterans Day Parade, meets on Tuesday, December 6th at GOP headquarters.
