The late Amos Harris, an active member of the Montgomery County Republican Executive Committee for many years, will be honored at the Nat King Cole Society's 18th Annual Birthday Bash and Fundraiser on Sunday, March 18th. A native of Chicago and veteran of the Korean War, Amos founded the Society and was instrumental in preserving Nat King Cole's home here in Montgomery. Cole was born in Montgomery on St. Patrick's Day, 1919.
Guest artists will perform Cole's music,
and the Society will present a $500 scholarship to an outstanding
student from each of Montgomery's public high schools. This year's
scholarship recipients will also perform.
The Birthday Bash will be held Sunday, March 18 at 3 p.m. at the Alabama State University Acadome.
